  1. Rye-grass is any perennial, wiry grass of the 
  2. genus Lolium, especially Lolium perenne, 
  3. common in pastures and waste places. It grows 
  4. up to 60cm (24inches) high, flowers in 
  5. midsummer, and sends up abundant nutritious 
  6. leaves, good for cattle.
